I
love street art, be it giant murals by professional artists or small sticker art on mailing labels. You can kind of tell the soul of a city or neighborhood by the artwork and tagging. Walking down any street I often spend far too much time examining each lamp-post for interesting stickers. I love them because someone took the time to make these, place them, and you can’t take them with you, you can’t buy them, all you can do is look, take a photograph and move on. It’s anonymous, fun, personal and free art.
Taipei has a flourishing street art scene, as much as Tokyo and more than Bangkok. You do tend to see the same stickers over and over, but every once in a while you can collect a great one.
