ulm is an upscale hotel, unfortunately, its booked for the holiday season months in advance. However, anyone is free to go to their skating rink and use the facilities. You can rent skates for the day and even hire an instructor if you want to.

Along the edge of the lake is a wooden deck where you can relax under provided wool blankets and have drinks or lunch. You can skate late into the afternoon when the light sun falls behind the mountains, beautiful.

Being from the Philippines I’d never tried Ice skating before, let alone on a frozen lake in St. Moritz, a luxury alpine resort town in Switzerland’s Engadin valley.

Although there are lots of people that can skate well, there are just as many that are just trying it for their first time. They provide chairs and cute little penguins you can hold onto as you learn to stand.

At first, it seems impossible, but after a half-hour, you’ll be ice skating on your own. It’s not too difficult, but it does get tiring.
